Hey there!
I'm Jafar Tavakoli, currently on a thrilling journey pursuing my PhD in Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University. My passion lies in revolutionizing education, particularly in the realm of Competency-Based Education within Computing Science. As a tech-savvy individual, I bring my programming prowess to life by crafting educational applications that elevate the learning experience.
But wait, there's more! I'm not just a coder – I'm also an inventor. My creative spark has led to a diverse portfolio of innovative creations, mainly focusing on devices that make everyday life a breeze and tackle common challenges.
Oh, and did I mention I wore the hat of Vice President of Marketing at PALDT, right here at Purdue University, for the year 2023-2024?
In addition to my academic pursuits and leadership roles, I am also the Vice President of the Purdue Student Chapter of NORD (National Organization for Rare Disorders). In this role, I am dedicated to raising awareness about rare diseases and organizing events that connect students, researchers, and healthcare professionals to foster meaningful discussions and advocacy.
Moreover, I am actively engaged in community service as the Director of IT and Technology at the Virtual World Institute, the world's first VR-Focused Educational Institute. In this voluntary position, I lead IT initiatives, manage technology infrastructure, and contribute to the institute's mission of revolutionizing virtual learning environments.
